I had never been in Northern Ireland before, and I really wanted to go, everybody had explained me nice experiences visiting the north, from the cities to the country sightseeing, and now that I had stayed I can ensure how nice it is.
My friends collected me on Friday after work and we went straight to Belfast, the road was really good, and in a couple of hours we were there. We went to the Belfast youth hostel which I recommend, because is very modern and cheap! after the check-in we went to the typical and not very good fish and chips…
On Saturday morning we tried to go out of Belfast in north direction, but we lost our way and we finish visiting all South Belfast and also the politic paintings of the city, uauhhh amazing with lots of strength and life.
An hour and a half later we found the way to the M2 that is the motorway that brings you to the North. We visit the Giant’s Causeway, amazing, is like hexagonal columns formed after a series of volcanic material, curious shaped columns!. The individual columns are so perfectly fitted together that you can only see the tiniest of cracks between them.
The causeway looks like a field full of perfectly geometrical giant stepping-stones, hence the name Giants Causeway. It’s a truly spectacular site.
The Giants Causeway has always been closely linked with Irish legend and Mythology. They say a giant named Finn McCool was responsible for building the Causeway as well as the nearby Lough Neagh. Finn McCool was a gentle giant and at just fifty two feet six inches, he was a relatively small giant.
After visiting the Giants we went to Carrik-a-Rede the rope bridge just a few miles from the Giants! Was amazing he he! you felt like hanging in the sea .. feeling the wind, moving your hair and touch your senses uhmmm.. a good sensation... one of my friends Yolanda prefered to stay out of the bridge, she prefered no to cross it just in case it breaks it or something!
We came back from the coast enjoying the good views that my friend Maireid had suggest me to, incredibles places, where I'd like to come back at anytime!
